PM Modi to Inaugurate World Food India 2025 at Bharat Mandapam
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the inauguration of World Food India 2025 on September 25 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event, scheduled to begin at 6:15 PM, will also feature an address by the Prime Minister.
The four-day mega event, running from September 25 to 28, aims to showcase India’s strengths in the food processing sector, sustainability initiatives, and promotion of nutritious and organic foods.
As part of the programme, credit-linked support of over ₹770 crore will be extended to around 26,000 beneficiaries for micro projects worth ₹2,510 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme. This move is expected to boost employment and empower micro-entrepreneurs in the sector.
World Food India 2025 will bring together 21 countries including France, Germany, Australia, South Korea, the USA, and China, alongside 150 international participants. The event will host CEO roundtables, technical sessions, and business interactions such as B2B, B2G, and G2G meetings, creating a global platform for collaboration.
The exhibition will feature 14 thematic pavilions covering diverse areas like sustainability and net zero, plant-based foods, nutraceuticals, pet food, and processed foods for nutrition and health. Organisers expect around one lakh visitors to attend the event.
World Food India is being positioned as a major step towards establishing India as a global hub for food processing and innovation.
