Odisha Congress Holds Torch Marches Over Alleged Voter List Irregularities
The Odisha Congress on Thursday staged ‘mashaal’ (torch) marches across several districts, protesting against alleged irregularities in voter lists.
The demonstrations were part of a nationwide agitation following party leader Rahul Gandhi’s claims of over one lakh fake voters in a Karnataka assembly constituency.
In Bhubaneswar, OPCC president Bhakta Charan Das led the march from Rajmahal Square to the Congress Bhawan, with party workers carrying flags, banners, and torches, raising slogans against the alleged “vote theft.”
The party has demanded a thorough investigation into the allegations to ensure transparency in the electoral process.
