50,000 Households in Odisha Still Await Power Restoration Post-Cyclone

Despite significant progress in restoration efforts, approximately 50,000 households in cyclone-hit districts of Odisha are still without power. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, after a review of the situation on Sunday, stated that while the restoration is in its final stages, certain villages in Kendrapara, Bhadrak, and Balasore districts remain cut off due to flooding, delaying efforts to fully restore power.

During his briefing, Majhi highlighted that power supply has been reinstated for 98% of affected regions. Of the 22.84 lakh consumers impacted by the cyclone, electricity has been restored to 22.32 lakh households, with only the marooned villages left in the dark. The Chief Minister assured residents that relief and repair teams are working tirelessly to restore power for the remaining households at the earliest.

The state government has also reported that all obstructions on major roads have been cleared, improving accessibility for relief and restoration operations.
