WEF and Government of India Launch AI Playbooks for SMEs and Agriculture to Boost Responsible AI Adoption

The World Economic Forum (WEF), in partnership with the Government of India, on Wednesday unveiled a set of AI playbooks for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and the agriculture sector, along with an AI sandbox white paper, aimed at driving responsible and inclusive AI adoption across the country.
Developed with the support of BCG X, the professional services arm of the Boston Consulting Group, the playbooks present practical frameworks and sector-specific roadmaps designed to help industries leverage artificial intelligence effectively and ethically.
According to WEF, these initiatives focus on using AI to boost productivity, enhance market access, and unlock financial opportunities for businesses and farmers alike. The development process involved extensive consultations, field workshops, and pilot project analyses with a broad range of stakeholders — including policymakers, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, technology providers, and academic experts.
The collaboration between WEF and the Indian government is part of a broader effort to position India as a global leader in responsible AI innovation, balancing rapid technological progress with inclusivity and ethical governance.
