Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh Engages with J&K Students on Bharat Darshan Tour

Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh hosted a luncheon interaction today with a group of around 70 students from Jammu & Kashmir participating in the Bharat Darshan programme, organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The students are in Delhi as part of an initiative to expose them to different cultures and educational opportunities across India.
During the interaction, Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed his admiration for the students’ inquisitiveness and observation skills. He encouraged them to embrace new technologies and explore startup avenues to build a brighter future. He stressed the importance of staying informed about advancements in various fields, including science and technology, biochemistry, artificial intelligence, and space technology, and urged the students to utilize their smartphones as tools for knowledge acquisition.
The Minister also highlighted several government schemes designed to empower the youth, including the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana, which focuses on enhancing traditional skills. He shared inspiring stories about women-run self-help groups in J&K that are doubling apple yields and improving shelf life, as well as the Purple Revolution, which allows local youth to cultivate lavender and produce perfumes and oils for profitable earnings.
Dr. Jitendra Singh urged the students to encourage their teachers to incorporate new ideas and perspectives into their lessons and suggested organizing workshops for educators to enhance the learning experience for students.
This Bharat Darshan tour began on October 9, 2024, with students visiting notable sites, including the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum in Bengaluru. The tour aims to broaden their horizons and foster a sense of unity and understanding among the youth of India. The students will be flying back to J&K tomorrow.
