Two Arrested in Odisha for Duping Job Seekers of ₹5 Lakh

Two individuals have been arrested in Odisha’s Jajpur district for allegedly defrauding job seekers by promising them government jobs in exchange for money, police said on Thursday.
The accused reportedly deceived several aspirants from Jajpur and Dhenkanal districts, collecting a total of ₹5 lakh under the false pretense of securing them employment in the government sector. Their fraudulent activities came to light after one of the victims lodged a complaint at the Jenapur Police Station.
Following an investigation, police apprehended the duo and are probing whether more individuals were involved in the scam. Authorities have urged job seekers to remain cautious and verify employment opportunities through official channels to avoid falling prey to such frauds.
