Tribal Farmer’s Daughter from Odisha Cracks NEET, Secures MBBS Seat
In an inspiring achievement, Leeza Majhi, daughter of a tribal farmer from Odisha, has cleared the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and secured admission to the MBBS course at Sundargarh Government Medical College and Hospital.
According to an official statement, Leeza completed her matriculation at Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (OAV) in Bamra with 82 percent marks. Recognizing her potential, she was selected to pursue Science at OAV Iconic in Bhubaneswar. She went on to secure 81.6 percent marks in her Class 12 board examinations before cracking NEET.
Officials said her success reflects the transformative role of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas in providing quality education to students from remote and underprivileged communities. Leeza’s journey is also being seen as a source of motivation for tribal students aspiring for professional courses.
Her achievement highlights the growing representation of tribal students in medical education and the opportunities being created through state initiatives in education.
