TPWODL Launches Mobile Health Dispensary Van in Nuapada to Strengthen Rural Healthcare
In a major boost to rural healthcare services, TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) inaugurated a Mobile Health Dispensary (MHD) Van in Nuapada district on Wednesday. The van was formally flagged off by Shri Madhusudan Dash, IAS, Collector & District Magistrate of Nuapada, at the Collectorate premises.
This initiative is part of TPWODL’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, which emphasizes inclusive development and the upliftment of underserved communities across Western Odisha.
The state-of-the-art mobile dispensary is outfitted with basic diagnostic equipment and essential medical supplies. Staffed by a qualified doctor, nurse, and pharmacist, the van will provide primary healthcare services such as medical consultations, first aid, and treatment for common ailments, especially in hard-to-reach and remote areas of the district.
Speaking at the inauguration, Collector Shri Madhusudan Dash praised TPWODL’s efforts, stating, “This initiative will significantly enhance healthcare delivery in remote pockets of Nuapada. We appreciate TPWODL’s commitment to reaching the last mile and ensuring no one is left behind when it comes to essential health services.”
The operational schedule and route of the mobile unit will be prepared in coordination with the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) of Nuapada, ensuring optimal coverage of areas that currently lack regular medical facilities. The initiative is projected to benefit nearly 1 lakh residents across the district.
TPWODL CEO Shri Parveen Verma expressed his enthusiasm about the project, saying, “I am delighted that our Mobile Health Dispensary for Nuapada has been officially launched. Healthcare is a fundamental right, and through this initiative, we are striving to close the accessibility gap in rural regions. This aligns with our broader mission of fostering inclusive growth and community well-being.”
This latest deployment follows the successful launch of similar MHD vans in the districts of Kalahandi, Sonepur, and Deogarh, further reinforcing TPWODL’s dedication to providing sustainable healthcare solutions in rural Odisha.
The initiative marks a progressive step in public-private partnership models aimed at ensuring equitable access to healthcare in underdeveloped regions.
