Top British Shooters Miss ISSF World Cup in Delhi Due to Visa Confusion

The ISSF World Cup final in Delhi has been impacted by the absence of three leading British shotgun shooters, including Paris Olympics trap gold medallist Nathan Hales, who will not compete due to complications with their visa paperwork.
The World Cup final is being held at the Karni Singh Ranges, featuring elite shooters from around the globe, including Olympic and world championship medallists. Training sessions commenced on Monday, with competitions set to begin on Tuesday.
According to former shooter Peter Wilson, who served as Hales’ personal coach during the Paris Games, the delay stemmed from a misunderstanding regarding the type of visa required. “They couldn’t get their business visas in time. I think one of them applied for a tourist visa, which was accepted, but that wasn’t sufficient for the competition,” Wilson explained to PTI.
The absence of these top athletes is a significant loss for the event, which aims to showcase the world’s best shooting talent as it draws to a close for the year.
