Three separate bandhs paralyse life in Odisha

Three Bandhs Hit Normal Life Across Odisha

Normal life was disrupted in different parts of Odisha on Tuesday as three separate bandhs were observed over civic, political, and wildlife-related issues. Shops, markets, and transport services remained largely shut, leaving people inconvenienced.

In Cuttack district’s Salipur, the opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) staged an eight-hour bandh from 6 am to 2 pm, demanding Notified Area Council (NAC) status for the town. The protest paralysed daily activities as commercial establishments and public transport stayed off the roads.

Similar protests were reported from other parts of the state, where bandh supporters pressed for resolution of local issues, including civic amenities and wildlife conservation.

Police were deployed in sensitive areas to maintain law and order, while officials engaged in talks with agitators to restore normalcy.
