Sudarsan Pattnaik Unveils Lemon Ganesh Sculpture

Sudarsan Pattnaik Crafts Lemon Ganesh Sand Sculpture at Puri Beach

Puri, Aug 26: On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, internationally acclaimed sand artist and Padma Shri awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik unveiled a unique Lemon Ganesh sand sculpture at Puri Beach, drawing devotees and tourists alike.

The 8-foot-tall installation, created using 4.5 tons of sand and 1,500 lemons, carries a powerful national message of “Ātmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant India).

Students from Pattnaik’s Sand Art Institute joined in the creative effort, making the celebration a blend of devotion, teamwork, and artistry.

“With Lord Ganesha’s blessings, let us move towards a future that is self-reliant, sustainable, and prosperous,” Pattnaik said while dedicating the artwork to the nation.

The theme aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of self-reliance, promoting growth across sectors such as defence, healthcare, agriculture, MSMEs, and digital innovation.

Known for fusing art with social messages, Pattnaik said the sculpture is a tribute to tradition while also reflecting India’s modern aspirations.
