Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Begins Two-Day Visit to Odisha
Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, arrived in Odisha on Wednesday for a two-day visit, during which he will participate in multiple programmes aimed at strengthening the agricultural and rural sectors in the state.
Chouhan was warmly received at the Bhubaneswar airport by Odisha Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo, BJP state president Manmohan Samal, and other senior party leaders.
As part of his itinerary, the Union Minister will inaugurate the ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’ in Puri on Thursday. The campaign is expected to focus on empowering farmers with advanced agricultural practices and sustainable development strategies.
Later in the day, Chouhan will hold an interactive session with women farmers at the Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (CIFA) in Bhubaneswar, highlighting the government’s emphasis on women’s participation in agriculture.
Chouhan’s visit underlines the Centre’s continued focus on agricultural reform, farmer welfare, and rural development in Odisha.
