BOE, UNESCO Launch Asia-Pacific Science Club Network And 2026 Challenge
BEIJING, May 8: UNESCO and BOE Technology Group have jointly launched the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Science Club Network and the 2026 Science Challenge at the BOE Technology Innovation Center in Beijing.
The initiative was unveiled on April 29 in the presence of more than 80 representatives from international science and education organisations, including the World Organization for Science Literacy and the China Science and Technology Museum. Also attending were laureates of the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science International Awards and educators representing science clubs across the Asia-Pacific region.
The launch follows the successful establishment of the African science clubs network in 2025 and marks the expansion of the BOE-UNESCO partnership into the Asia-Pacific region. Officials described the move as an important step under the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development aimed at strengthening science education and sustainable development worldwide.
BOE is serving as a co-host of the 2026 International Workshop on Capacity Building for Science Education Practice and is also the exclusive technology partner of the 2026 Science Challenge. The company said it plans to use advanced digital and display technologies to support science learning, innovation, and participation throughout the initiative.
The partnership seeks to build a comprehensive science education ecosystem by combining teacher training, science clubs, innovation workshops, and international competitions to inspire students and young innovators across emerging regions.
Organisers said the initiative reflects the growing role of technology-driven collaboration in promoting STEM education and empowering the next generation of scientific talent globally.
