Odisha Approves AI Policy, Job Reforms

Odisha Cabinet Approves AI Policy, Raises Govt Job Age Limit to 42

In a significant move aimed at promoting technological growth and expanding employment opportunities, the Odisha Cabinet on Wednesday approved the Odisha Artificial Intelligence Policy, 2025, and increased the upper age limit for applying to state government jobs to 42 years.

The decisions were made during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, reflecting the government’s push toward both digital advancement and inclusive recruitment.

Announcing the outcomes, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja said the cabinet approved a total of five proposals from key departments including Commerce & Transport, Electronics and Information Technology, Health and Family Welfare, Works, and General Administration.

The newly approved AI policy is expected to boost innovation, skill development, and integration of artificial intelligence across government services, industries, and education in Odisha.

Meanwhile, the age limit increase is seen as a move to provide broader opportunities to candidates who may have previously missed the cutoff due to various personal or professional constraints.

The state government is expected to release detailed guidelines for the implementation of both decisions in the coming weeks.
