Sharma and Bhullar Struggle as Schauffele and Rahm Share Lead in Olympic Golf

India’s Shubhankar Sharma and Gaganjeet Bhullar faced challenging rounds at the Olympic men’s golf competition, leaving them well behind the leaders on Saturday. Sharma, who had shown promise earlier in the tournament, struggled to find consistency in his third round, carding a 1-over 72. This performance dropped him to Tied-48th place at 2-under for the tournament.

Sharma’s round was marked by two birdies, which were offset by three bogeys, underscoring the difficulties he faced on the course. Despite his efforts, the late birdies were not enough to significantly improve his standing.

Gaganjeet Bhullar, the other Indian golfer in the field, also found the going tough. Bhullar, who had been looking to make a strong push up the leaderboard, was unable to capitalize on his opportunities and remains far behind the frontrunners.

At the top of the leaderboard, defending champion Xander Schauffele and world number one Jon Rahm delivered impressive performances to share the lead. Schauffele and Rahm, both known for their strong play under pressure, are poised to battle it out for the gold medal as the tournament heads into its final round.

With one round left, Sharma and Bhullar will be hoping to finish strong and improve their positions, even as the focus remains on the intense competition at the top.
