Shah Rukh Khan’s foundation aids flood-hit Punjab

Shah Rukh Khan’s Meer Foundation Provides Relief to Flood-Hit Families in Punjab
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s Meer Foundation has extended support to families affected by the recent floods in Punjab, distributing essential relief kits to aid rehabilitation, the organisation said on Thursday.
Punjab is grappling with one of its worst flood disasters in decades, caused by the overflowing of the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers, along with seasonal rivulets, following heavy rainfall in the catchment areas of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.
The relief effort, carried out in partnership with local NGOs, will cover 1,500 households across Amritsar, Patiala, Fazilka, and Ferozepur districts, the foundation stated.
Officials highlighted that the initiative aims to provide immediate relief to affected families, ensuring access to food, basic essentials, and hygiene supplies, while supporting the longer-term recovery of flood-hit communities.
The Meer Foundation, established by Shah Rukh Khan, has previously undertaken numerous relief and rehabilitation efforts across India, reinforcing its commitment to humanitarian causes.
