Randeep Hooda Revisits Cellular Jail, Recalls Shooting for ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’
Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda on Sunday revisited the historic Cellular Jail in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, sharing memories from the time he shot his directorial debut Swatantrya Veer Savarkar at the iconic site.
Hooda took to Instagram to post a series of photographs from the Cellular Jail, a place deeply associated with India’s freedom struggle. Alongside the pictures, the actor penned a heartfelt and reflective note, recalling the emotional experience of filming at the same location where freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar was imprisoned.
Released in March 2024, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar chronicles the life and ideological journey of Savarkar, one of the most debated figures in India’s independence movement. The film marked Hooda’s first outing as a director, with the actor also essaying the titular role.
