Madhuri Dixit Avoids Gore In Mrs Deshpande

Conscious decision to avoid violence and gore in ‘Mrs Deshpande’: Madhuri Dixit
Actor Madhuri Dixit, who is set to portray a serial killer in the upcoming web series Mrs Deshpande, says she made a conscious choice to steer clear of excessive violence and gore, focusing instead on emotional depth and psychological intensity.

Speaking about the project, Dixit said she is acutely aware of her responsibility as an artist, especially while portraying dark and complex characters. Rather than relying on graphic visuals, the actor and the makers opted to explore the inner turmoil, motivations, and mindset of the character.

Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, Mrs Deshpande is a six-episode psychological thriller that revolves around an imprisoned female serial killer who is approached by the police after a new string of murders begins to replicate her distinctive modus operandi.

The series presents Dixit in a raw, de-glam, and deeply unsettling avatar, marking a sharp departure from her celebrated on-screen image in iconic films such as Hum Aapke Hain Koun, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Devdas, and Total Dhamaal.

With Mrs Deshpande, Dixit ventures into darker territory, aiming to challenge herself as an actor while offering audiences a gripping narrative that relies on suspense and emotional complexity rather than shock value.
