Rahul Gandhi Alleges Covert Alliance: BJD and BJP Together, Serving the Select Few in Odisha

In a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleged that their respective administrations serve the interests of the wealthy elite rather than the common people. Speaking at an election rally in Cuttack’s Salepur, Gandhi criticized Modi for running a government that caters to billionaires from Delhi, while accusing Patnaik of leading a dispensation that prioritizes the needs of a select few in Odisha.

Gandhi suggested that despite the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) appearing to be in opposition, they are, in fact, collaborating behind the scenes. “Call it a partnership or marriage, both BJD and BJP are together,” he asserted, implying a covert alliance between the two parties despite their electoral rivalry.

The Congress leader’s remarks come amid ongoing political campaigns ahead of state elections in Odisha, where the BJP and the BJD are key contenders. Gandhi’s accusations highlight the broader narrative of economic disparity and alleged collusion between political elites, resonating with voters who may harbor concerns about governance and representation.

The upcoming elections in Odisha are poised to be a critical juncture in shaping the state’s political landscape, with parties vying for power amidst a backdrop of economic challenges and social issues. Rahul Gandhi’s statements underscore the intense competition and ideological clashes characterizing the electoral battleground as parties strive to garner support and secure victory.
