President, PM, Odisha CM Greet People on Occasion of Rath Yatra

On the auspicious occasion of the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended their heartfelt greetings to the people.

President Murmu took to social media, posting in both Odia and Hindi, to convey her wishes. “I extend my heartiest greetings to all people of our country on the occasion of the world-famous Rath Yatra of Mahaprabhu Shree Jagannath. Countless Jagannath lovers of the country and the world are eagerly waiting to see three deities on the chariot today,” she expressed in her posts.

Prime Minister Modi also shared his greetings, highlighting the cultural and spiritual significance of the Rath Yatra. He said, “May the divine journey of Lord Jagannath bring joy, prosperity, and well-being in everyone’s lives. Jai Jagannath!”

Chief Minister Majhi joined in the celebrations, emphasizing the unity and devotion that the festival symbolizes. “Rath Yatra is a time when the whole world turns its eyes towards Odisha. It is a festival that brings together people from all walks of life in a spirit of devotion and harmony,” he stated.

The Rath Yatra, known for its grandeur and the immense devotion it inspires, sees the deities Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra taken out in a grand procession on elaborately decorated chariots. This festival attracts millions of devotees and tourists from across the globe, making it one of the most significant cultural and religious events in India.

As the chariots rolled out from the Jagannath Temple in Puri, chants of “Jai Jagannath” echoed through the streets, marking the beginning of the divine journey. The event not only holds deep religious significance but also showcases the rich heritage and traditions of Odisha, bringing together a tapestry of faith, culture, and unity.
