President Droupadi Murmu Addresses IAS Officers at Rashtrapati Bhavan During 127th Induction Training Programme
President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, today addressed Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers inducted from the State Civil Services, who are currently undergoing the 127th Induction Training Programme at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA). The officers called on the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan as part of their training schedule.
In her address, the President highlighted the critical role these officers play in India’s governance and development landscape. She acknowledged their prior work at the grassroots level, addressing state-specific priorities and challenges, and emphasized that their responsibilities will now broaden in both scope and complexity as they transition to national-level roles.
“You are no longer just regional administrators—you are now bearers of national governance standards,” the President said. She urged the officers to align their work with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat, the government’s goal of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.
President Murmu also underscored the importance of inclusive development. She called on officers to ensure that marginalized and weaker sections of society are not left behind in the journey toward national progress. “When the poorest and most deprived experience growth and prosperity, only then can we truly call ourselves a developed nation,” she stated.
Highlighting the power of technology and innovation, the President encouraged officers to embrace digital tools such as Artificial Intelligence, e-governance platforms, and real-time feedback systems to enhance governance and service delivery. However, she cautioned that technological advancement must be balanced with core values.
“While adopting modern tools, never lose sight of the foundational principles of the Indian Administrative Service—integrity, transparency, and accountability,” she advised. “Exercise your authority with empathy, fairness, and impartiality.”
The session concluded with the President expressing confidence in the officers’ ability to contribute meaningfully to India’s development goals, and she wished them success in their future endeavors as IAS officers.
