PM Starmer: Bollywood Returns to Britain

Bollywood is Back in Britain, Says UK PM Keir Starmer During YRF Studio Visit
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Wednesday visited Yash Raj Films (YRF) Studios in Mumbai’s Andheri suburb and announced a renewed wave of collaboration between Bollywood and the United Kingdom’s film industry.
Starmer revealed that major Indian production houses, including YRF, will soon begin filming in the UK, with three new Bollywood movies set to be shot across British locations starting next year.
“Bollywood is back in Britain, and it is bringing jobs, investment and opportunity, all while showcasing the UK as a world-class destination for global filmmaking,” Starmer said in a statement issued by the British High Commission.
He added that the partnership reflects the broader goals of the upcoming UK-India trade deal, aiming to strengthen cultural connections while driving economic growth and job creation.
The British PM’s visit to YRF Studios underscores the growing creative and commercial links between the two film industries. The renewed collaboration is expected to not only promote the UK as a premier filming destination but also enhance cross-cultural storytelling and exchange.
