PM Modi Inaugurates PM MITRA Park in Telangana’s Warangal

Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the country’s first operational PM MITRA Park in Warangal, marking a major step in India’s industrial and textile growth journey.

Developed at a cost of ₹1,695.54 crore, the mega integrated textile hub aims to strengthen India’s textile ecosystem under the Government’s 5F vision — “Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign.” The Prime Minister said the PM MITRA Park would accelerate the textile revolution in the country and create large-scale employment opportunities, particularly for women.

Spread across 1,327 acres, the park is expected to attract investments worth over ₹6,000 crore and generate more than 24,400 jobs across the textile value chain. Officials said 62 per cent of the park has already been allotted, reflecting strong industry interest.

Strategically located near the proposed Nagpur-Vijayawada Greenfield Expressway (NH-163G) and close to NH-163, the park offers strong multimodal connectivity to railway networks and seaports, ensuring efficient logistics for domestic and global trade.

The integrated textile hub has been designed with modern industrial infrastructure, including an internal road network, dedicated power substation, assured water supply, and environmentally sustainable facilities. A Common Effluent Treatment Plant with Zero Liquid Discharge technology has also been incorporated to support sustainable manufacturing practices.

The Ministry of Textiles had approved seven PM MITRA Parks across India in March 2023 in states including Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh to strengthen textile infrastructure nationwide.

The Telangana government had proposed the expansion of the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park at Warangal under the PM MITRA scheme in 2022. Following approval under the Brownfield category, the project became eligible for ₹200 crore in development capital support and ₹300 crore under Competitive Incentive Support for industries establishing units in the park.

The inauguration of the Warangal PM MITRA Park is expected to boost textile manufacturing, exports, employment generation, and industrial development in the region.
