Odisha DGP Orders Crackdown on Habitual Criminals

YB Khurania has directed police officials across Odisha to intensify action against habitual offenders and strengthen law and order enforcement in the state.

During a virtual review meeting held on Sunday, the Odisha DGP instructed superintendents of police, range IGs, and DIGs to expedite the execution of non-bailable warrants pending against offenders. He also asked officers to invoke the stringent National Security Act against habitual criminals involved in repeated unlawful activities.

The high-level meeting focused on reviewing the overall law and order situation across the state and identifying measures to curb criminal activities effectively.

Khurania further directed police officers to intensify the crackdown on drug trafficking networks and strengthen patrolling in all police station jurisdictions to ensure public safety and prevent crime.

The DGP emphasised proactive policing and coordinated action by district police units to maintain peace and improve security across Odisha.
