PM Modi Highlights North-East as India’s Emerging Front-Runner

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Thursday shared an article emphasizing how the North-East is becoming a key driver of India’s growth story. The article, authored by Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, highlights the significance of the Bairabi-Sairang railway line in Mizoram.

The PM’s office, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), noted: “The North-East is no longer a frontier waiting for progress but is central to India’s growth story. The inauguration of the Bairabi-Sairang railway line marks a historic milestone, connecting Mizoram to the national railway network, opening new doors of trade, connectivity and opportunity.”

The new railway line, connecting Bairabi to Sairang, is expected to enhance trade, improve connectivity, and create economic opportunities across Mizoram and the wider North-Eastern region.

By sharing the article, PM Modi reiterated the government’s focus on infrastructure development, integration of the North-East with national networks, and promoting the region as a hub of economic activity and opportunity.
