PM Modi Interacts with Builders of Chenab Rail Bridge, Applauds Their Dedication to Nation-Building
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday interacted with some of the individuals involved in the construction of the iconic Chenab Rail Bridge, lauding their unwavering dedication to the nation’s infrastructure development.
In a heartfelt post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the Prime Minister said,
“Interacted with some of the people involved in building the Chenab Rail Bridge. They belong to different parts of India and are unwavering in their resolve to build modern infrastructure for their fellow Indians. They shared their experiences, including working in some very challenging times. They also shared how their families are very proud of the work they have done!”
The interaction highlighted not only the engineering marvel that is the Chenab Bridge but also the human stories and perseverance behind its creation. Workers and engineers who were part of the project spoke about the hardships they overcame, including treacherous terrain, extreme weather conditions, and the technical complexity of constructing the world’s highest railway bridge.
The Chenab Rail Bridge, located in Jammu and Kashmir, is a key part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project and stands as a symbol of India’s engineering prowess. Soaring 359 metres above the Chenab River, it has become a landmark achievement in Indian rail infrastructure.
PM Modi’s gesture of personally engaging with the workers reflects the government’s appreciation for the silent heroes behind monumental national projects. His interaction underscored the spirit of teamwork and national pride driving India’s push for modern infrastructure.
The Prime Minister’s praise comes at a time when the government continues to focus on connectivity and development in remote regions, aiming to bring transformative change to lives through strategic projects like the Chenab Bridge.
