PM Modi Hails India’s 100 GW Solar PV Manufacturing Milestone

New Delhi, Aug 13 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed India’s achievement of reaching 100 GW Solar PV Module Manufacturing Capacity, calling it a significant step towards self-reliance and clean energy adoption.

Responding to a post on X by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, the Prime Minister said, “This is yet another milestone towards self-reliance! It depicts the success of India’s manufacturing capabilities and our efforts towards popularising clean energy.”

The achievement marks a major boost for India’s renewable energy sector, underscoring the country’s commitment to sustainable development, reduced carbon footprint, and enhanced energy security.

The expansion of solar manufacturing capacity is also expected to strengthen India’s position as a global leader in green technology and support its target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
