PepsiCo CEO Meets PM Modi, Reaffirms Long-Term Commitment to India
PepsiCo Global CEO and Chairman Ramon Laguarta met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday during his three-day visit to India, reiterating the company’s long-term commitment to the country.
This marks Laguarta’s second visit in six months, underlining the growing importance of India as a key market for the global snacks and beverages giant. He was accompanied by senior members of PepsiCo’s global executive committee.
While details of the discussions were not officially disclosed, sources indicated that the talks centred on PepsiCo’s investment plans, sustainability initiatives, and expansion strategy in India. The company has been steadily strengthening its footprint in the country with new manufacturing facilities, farmer-linked sourcing programmes, and product innovation tailored to Indian consumers.
PepsiCo executives highlighted India’s role as a strategic growth driver, given its large consumer base and rapidly evolving food and beverage sector. The visit is seen as a reaffirmation of the company’s plan to scale up operations and contribute to India’s economic and agricultural value chains.
The Prime Minister welcomed PepsiCo’s initiatives and expressed optimism about continued collaboration in areas such as sustainability, rural development, and job creation.
