Over 50 Lakh Students, Teachers Participate in Mass ‘Vande Mataram’ Rendition Across Odisha

More than 50 lakh students, teachers, and staff from educational institutions across Odisha participated in a mass rendition of the national song Vande Mataram on Monday, commemorating its 150th anniversary.

The event was organised by the state’s School and Mass Education Department and Higher Education Department, with active participation from institutes under the Skill Development and Technical Education Department.

The programme aimed to celebrate the legacy of Bankim Chandra Chatterjee’s iconic composition and instill a sense of unity, patriotism, and cultural pride among students across the state. Officials highlighted that such mass initiatives not only promote awareness of India’s cultural heritage but also encourage collective participation in national milestones.

The large-scale event showcased Odisha’s commitment to preserving and promoting the country’s historical and cultural values among its youth.
