Odisha’s Boudh Remains Hottest Place in India for Third Consecutive Day

Odisha’s Boudh district continues to battle intense heat, emerging as the hottest place in the country for the third straight day on Monday, with the mercury soaring to 43.5 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Following closely, Bargarh recorded a temperature of 42 degrees Celsius, making it the second-hottest location in India. Meanwhile, Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh ranked third, experiencing a high of 41.3 degrees Celsius.

The severe heatwave conditions gripping Boudh have been relentless. The district recorded 42.5 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 43.6 degrees Celsius on Sunday, with no immediate signs of respite.

IMD officials have warned of persisting extreme temperatures in the region and advised residents to take necessary precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses. The scorching heatwave has raised concerns over water scarcity, public health, and agricultural impact in the affected areas.

With summer intensifying early, Odisha’s weather department is closely monitoring the rising temperatures and advising people to stay hydrated, avoid direct sun exposure, and take necessary safety measures.
