Raids on Odisha Engineer’s Properties Over ‘Disproportionate Assets’
Sleuths of the Odisha Vigilance Department on Monday carried out simultaneous raids at multiple locations linked to a senior government engineer on charges of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to officials, the searches were launched at the office and properties of the Superintending Engineer (SE) of the Angul Irrigation Division. A total of eight premises connected to him are under the scanner.
The raids are being conducted in Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Sundargarh, Angul, and Purusottampur in Ganjam district, sources said.
The Vigilance team is verifying documents, land records, bank accounts, and other valuables to ascertain the extent of alleged disproportionate assets amassed by the official.
Further details of the operation, including the value of assets seized, are awaited, officials added.
