Odisha, TSF partner for inclusive habitats

TSF, Odisha Govt Sign MoU to Develop Urban Habitats for Low-Income Groups

In a bid to promote inclusive urban development, the Odisha government’s Housing & Urban Development Department (H&UDD) has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tata Steel Foundation (TSF) to develop urban habitats for low-income groups.

The partnership, formalized on Sunday in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi during the state-level celebration of Local Self-Governance Day, seeks to reduce urban inequality and ensure that welfare schemes reach the most vulnerable sections of society.

According to officials, the collaboration will focus on creating fairer cities by improving access to government support and designing scalable models of inclusive habitat development that can be replicated across the state and beyond.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Majhi lauded the initiative and said the move would contribute significantly towards strengthening urban resilience and addressing the needs of marginalized communities.

With this MoU, Odisha aims to set a benchmark in sustainable and equitable urban growth by combining government efforts with corporate social responsibility initiatives.
