Odisha MLAs to Join Navy Day Celebrations in Puri
Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy announced on Monday that state MLAs will participate in the Navy Day celebrations on December 4 in Puri, graced by the presence of President Droupadi Murmu.
In a statement made in the Assembly, Padhy shared that lawmakers would travel to the pilgrim town in special buses and have the option to bring their spouses to witness the navy’s demonstrations of valour.
To facilitate the visit, the Assembly is expected to adjourn its session for the day. Navy Day commemorates the Indian Navy’s pivotal role in the 1971 Indo-Pak War and highlights its operational excellence and maritime capabilities.
The presence of President Murmu and the participation of Odisha’s legislators underscore the state’s respect for the navy’s contributions to national security.
