Odisha Journalists Urge Chief Minister for Pension and Accreditation Council
BHUBANESWAR: A delegation of working journalists met with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday, advocating for several key measures to support the state’s media professionals.
The journalists requested the Chief Minister to introduce a pension scheme for scribes, similar to those in Madhya Pradesh and other states. They also called for the activation of the journalists’ accreditation council and the implementation of an annual pass system for entry into the state secretariat for news coverage.
During the meeting, which involved the Chief Minister in his role as head of the Information and Public Relations Department, the journalists emphasized the need for these provisions to enhance their working conditions and facilitate better news coverage.
