Odisha Govt to Push for Smart City Development in Cuttack: CM Majhi

In a move to enhance the infrastructure and urban development of Cuttack, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Saturday that the state government is committed to taking all necessary measures to transform Cuttack into a smart city. The announcement came during his visit to various Durga Puja pandals across the city.

Majhi, while touring popular puja locations such as Balubazar, Gopalpur, Chauliaganj, and Khan Nagar, acknowledged Cuttack’s rich cultural heritage and emphasized the importance of blending tradition with modernity for the city’s future growth.

Speaking at Balubazar, where Durga Puja is said to have been celebrated since 1510, the Chief Minister offered ‘pushpanjali’ and interacted with community members, underscoring the importance of maintaining the city’s legacy while introducing smart city solutions to improve urban living standards.

“We are working on an inclusive plan for Cuttack that focuses on upgrading infrastructure, improving digital services, and enhancing the overall quality of life for residents. The historical significance of this city will be preserved while we aim for modernization,” Majhi said during his visit.

With a vision to make Cuttack a city that combines technology-driven solutions with its cultural richness, Majhi assured that the state government will allocate the necessary resources and formulate strategic initiatives to realize this goal.
