Odisha Govt to Provide Free Treatment, Vaccination for Livestock

In a significant move to support farmers and livestock owners, the Odisha government has announced free treatment and vaccination for livestock across the state from March 1. The decision was confirmed by Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik on Thursday.

Mallik stated that the initiative aims to ensure better veterinary care and livestock protection. Under the scheme, fees for the treatment and vaccination of animals such as cattle, goats, and sheep will be completely waived.

“The government has taken this step in response to the people’s requests. From March 1, livestock owners will receive free veterinary services,” Mallik posted on X.

He further emphasized that prioritizing free public veterinary care will benefit farmers engaged in animal husbandry, providing them with crucial support.

This initiative is expected to boost livestock health and productivity, ultimately strengthening the rural economy.
