Odisha Government Conducts Major Bureaucratic Reshuffle

Odisha Government Announces Fresh Bureaucratic Reshuffle; IAS and Forest Officers Transferred
In a continued administrative overhaul, the Odisha government on Thursday announced a fresh round of bureaucratic reshuffle, affecting several Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and 34 deputy conservator-rank forest officers. The move is part of the state’s efforts to streamline governance and accommodate officers returning from training.
As per the official notifications issued, Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, a 2005-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Cooperation Department. He will simultaneously continue to hold his additional responsibilities as Special Secretary of the Housing & Urban Development Department and Chairman of the Odisha State Warehousing Corporation.
The reshuffle also includes the reassignment of duties to officers who recently completed central or state training programs. The reallocation is seen as a measure to ensure administrative efficiency and maintain momentum in key developmental sectors.
Meanwhile, the transfer of 34 deputy conservator-rank officers in the Forest Department indicates a focused shift in environmental and conservation policy enforcement.
This is the second significant reshuffle within a week, reflecting the government’s strategic push to optimize the administrative machinery ahead of major state-level initiatives and ongoing monsoon-related preparedness.
