Odisha Government Approves Renewable Energy Projects Worth Rs 903 Crore
The Odisha government has greenlit investment proposals totaling Rs 903.41 crore in the renewable energy (RE) sector, according to an official statement released on Thursday.
The single window committee (SWC) of the Energy Department, chaired by Principal Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev, approved the proposals as part of the state’s ambitious plan to achieve a renewable energy target of 10 GW by 2030.
Among the approved projects is HPCL Renewable & Green Energy Ltd’s proposal to set up a 48-MW wind energy project in Umerkote, Nabarangpur district. Additionally, ONGC Tripura Power Company Ltd received the nod to develop a 49.5-MW wind energy project in Astaranga, Puri district.
“These projects are crucial steps towards our goal of sustainable energy development and will significantly contribute to Odisha’s renewable energy capacity,” Principal Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev stated. “We are committed to harnessing renewable energy resources to meet our future energy demands and reduce our carbon footprint.”
The approval of these projects underscores the Odisha government’s dedication to expanding its renewable energy infrastructure and advancing towards a greener and more sustainable future.
