Odisha Government Unveils 36 Flagship Programs to Achieve ‘Vikasit Odisha’ by 2036

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday announced that the state government has outlined 36 flagship programs aimed at transforming Odisha into a prosperous and “Vikasit Odisha” (Developed Odisha) by the year 2036, the state’s centenary year.

The announcement was made during a consultation workshop on the preparation of the Vision Odisha 2036 and Vision Odisha 2047 documents, which will set the long-term development trajectory for the state. The Chief Minister highlighted that the state government has developed these flagship programs with a vision of making Odisha a $500 billion economy by its centenary.

“A prosperous Odisha will be built by 2036. For this, 36 programs have been prepared. Odisha will be made a $500 billion economy by its centenary,” said Majhi, emphasizing the importance of sustainable economic growth and infrastructure development.

The Vision Odisha 2036 and 2047 documents will focus on a range of sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, education, industrial growth, and digital transformation, aiming to propel the state into a phase of rapid development.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that these flagship programs would create new opportunities, improve the standard of living, and ensure equitable growth across the state, benefiting all sections of society.

Majhi also called for the active involvement of stakeholders, including policymakers, industry leaders, and citizens, to achieve the ambitious goals laid out in the vision documents.
