On the second day of his visit to Keonjhar, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated a mega health fair on Saturday, reaffirming his commitment to improving healthcare services in his home district. The health fair is part of a larger initiative aimed at expanding medical services to underserved populations in the region.

In a significant boost to healthcare accessibility, the Chief Minister also flagged off 13 mobile medical unit vehicles that will operate across remote areas of Keonjhar district. These vehicles are equipped with essential medical facilities to provide primary healthcare services to residents in far-flung locations.

The health fair featured a range of medical services, including a comprehensive health camp, an eye check-up camp, and the distribution of aids such as tricycles, Braille kits, and hearing aids for individuals with disabilities, ensuring inclusivity and access to healthcare for all.

Specialists from Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital, Dharanidhar Naik Medical College, and SCB Medical College Cuttack participated in the event, providing free consultations and treatments in various medical fields. The services covered specialties such as neurology, cardiology, surgery, urology, nephrology, psychiatry, pediatrics, and orthopedics, offering advanced care to patients.

The initiative received an overwhelming response from the public, with thousands of people availing themselves of the free medical services. Many expressed their gratitude for the specialized care provided, highlighting the importance of such programs in addressing the healthcare needs of rural communities.

Speaking at the event, CM Mohan Charan Majhi emphasized the government’s focus on improving healthcare infrastructure and ensuring that quality medical services reach the most marginalized sections of society. He reiterated that efforts like these health fairs are part of the state’s broader mission to achieve comprehensive health coverage for every citizen.
