India’s Strength Lies in Unity in Diversity: Odisha CM Majhi

Emphasizing the spirit of national integration, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday said that India’s true strength lies in its unity in diversity, as he participated in the ‘Run for Unity’ event held at Kalinga Stadium to mark ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The event, organised by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, youth, and sports personalities. The Chief Minister flagged off the run and urged everyone to uphold the ideals of harmony, brotherhood, and patriotism that form the foundation of India’s unity.

“Unity, brotherhood and patriotism are the soul of India,” Majhi said while addressing the gathering. “We are all Indians, irrespective of caste, religion, or language. This self-awareness keeps us united and makes the country strong.”

Recalling the contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the CM hailed him as the architect of modern India, who united hundreds of princely states to form an integrated nation. “Sardar Patel was such a great leader who transformed the dream of a united India into reality through his vision and determination,” Majhi added.

The Chief Minister also encouraged citizens, especially the youth, to imbibe the values of national integration and collective responsibility to continue strengthening India’s unity.

The event concluded with participants taking the ‘Rashtriya Ekta pledge’, reaffirming their commitment to uphold India’s diversity and integrity.
