Odisha CM Approves Proposal for New OISF Battalion
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved the proposal for the establishment of a new battalion of the Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF), aimed at enhancing the state’s industrial security. The proposal, which was approved on Saturday, includes the creation of 1,040 new posts for the battalion.
Currently, the state has one operational battalion of the OISF, with a total of 1,807 posts. Following the approval of the new battalion, the total number of posts across both battalions will rise to 2,847, bolstering the security infrastructure in Odisha’s industrial sectors.
The move is expected to strengthen security measures in industrial zones across the state, ensuring a safer environment for both industries and workers. The OISF plays a crucial role in safeguarding industrial establishments, handling emergencies, and managing law and order issues related to industrial activities.
Chief Minister Majhi’s decision comes as part of the ongoing effort to boost security in Odisha’s growing industrial landscape, addressing both internal and external threats. The new battalion will also create additional employment opportunities, supporting the state’s economic development.
