Khelo India Centres Inaugurated Across Odisha

Khelo India Centres Inaugurated in All Odisha Districts
Odisha’s Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Suryabanshi Suraj, virtually inaugurated Khelo India centres in all 30 districts of the state on Sunday. The move is part of a broader effort to strengthen sports infrastructure and nurture talent at the grassroots level.
In his announcement, Minister Suraj highlighted that the establishment of these centres was a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and the Odisha Sports and Youth Affairs Department.
“Khelo India centres have been opened with the aim of developing sports infrastructure and talent at the grassroots level,” Suraj said during the virtual event. The initiative is in line with the central government’s Khelo India Programme, which seeks to promote sports and create a robust foundation for young athletes across the country.
With the inauguration, Odisha becomes the first state to establish Khelo India centres in every district, providing more opportunities for aspiring athletes and increasing access to sports training and facilities.
The Khelo India centres are expected to focus on the development of both infrastructure and talent, with the goal of identifying promising athletes from rural and remote areas and providing them with the resources to excel in national and international competitions.
This initiative is also expected to contribute to building a culture of sports in Odisha, encouraging more youth to participate in physical activities and pursue sports as a career.
