Odisha CM Announces Free Medical Aid for Ailing Child from Boudh

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed health department officials to provide free medical treatment to a minor boy from Boudh district who is suffering from a rare disease that has led to the loss of his eyesight.

The boy, identified as Pratyush Giri, has been battling the ailment for the past seven years, and his family has struggled to afford the necessary treatment. Pratyush’s father, Hembram Giri, explained that many hospitals had refused to treat his son using their health insurance card, which led them to seek help from the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell.

Pratyush’s mother expressed relief, stating, “We came here to the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell, and the CM assured us of providing all required medical care for our son.”

The Chief Minister’s intervention has brought hope to the family, as health officials have now been instructed to ensure that Pratyush receives the necessary treatment without any financial burden. This move highlights the Odisha government’s commitment to ensuring healthcare access for all, especially those in dire need.

Pratyush’s family is now hopeful that the medical aid will help him recover and regain his eyesight, a life-changing gesture by the state government.
