Odisha Clears ₹1.51L Cr Industrial Projects

Odisha Approves ₹1.51 Lakh Crore Mega Industrial Projects, Over 62,000 Jobs Expected

In a significant step towards accelerating industrial growth and employment generation, the Odisha government on Monday approved eight transformative mega industrial projects with a cumulative investment of ₹1,51,239.50 crore. These projects are expected to create more than 62,000 job opportunities across the state.

The approval was granted during the 41st meeting of the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA), chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The proposed projects span key sectors including aluminium, steel, chemicals, textiles, and ancillary and downstream metal industries.

According to official sources, the projects will be spread across six districts—Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Khurda, and Sambalpur—strengthening the state’s position as an emerging industrial hub.

Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the government’s commitment to ease of doing business and sustainable industrial development. “These projects will not only boost Odisha’s economy but also generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities, especially for the youth,” he said.

The strategic investment comes at a time when Odisha is actively promoting value addition in natural resources and encouraging green and inclusive industrialisation. The new projects are expected to enhance the industrial ecosystem and support infrastructure development in the identified districts.

Officials added that all necessary clearances and facilitation will be extended to ensure timely implementation of these projects.
