Odisha Government Approves Two New Schemes for Biotech and Urban Infrastructure Development
In a significant move to boost the state’s economy and create employment opportunities, the Odisha cabinet on Friday approved the implementation of two new schemes focused on biotechnology and urban infrastructure development. The decisions were taken during the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
The two schemes, titled “Development of Biotechnology” and “Mukhya Mantri Sahari Bikash Yojana (MSBY),” aim to enhance the biotech sector and improve urban infrastructure across Odisha. These initiatives are expected to strengthen the state’s economic growth and generate new job opportunities for residents.
In addition to these new schemes, the cabinet also gave the green light to finalise a Rs 151-crore tender for the Chheligada multipurpose medium irrigation project in Gajapati district, which is anticipated to bolster agricultural development in the region.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, speaking to reporters after the meeting, emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting sustainable development through these initiatives that combine innovation in biotechnology with urban development priorities.
These steps align with Odisha’s broader vision of inclusive growth, aiming to create a robust economic environment by leveraging technological advancements and infrastructure upgrades.
