NTPC Begins 165 MW Solar Supply

NTPC Renewable Energy has commenced commercial operations of 165 MW capacity from the second phase of its 1,200 MW Khavda-II Solar Project in Gujarat, its parent company announced on Friday.
The company operates under NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of state-run power major NTPC Ltd. NTPC Renewable Energy functions as a step-down subsidiary of NTPC Ltd through NGEL.
According to a regulatory filing, the newly commissioned 165 MW capacity forms part of the broader 1,200 MW Khavda-II solar development in Gujarat. With this addition, the total commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group has risen from 8,827.68 MW to 8,992.68 MW.
The Khavda solar projects are part of NTPC Group’s broader strategy to scale up its renewable energy portfolio and support India’s clean energy transition. The company has been steadily expanding its solar and wind capacity across multiple states as it works toward achieving ambitious renewable energy targets in the coming years.
The commissioning of the latest capacity further strengthens NTPC Green Energy’s position as a key player in the country’s renewable energy sector.
