NSO Hosts Education Survey Training Workshop

NSO Hosts All India Workshop for Education Survey Trainers in Jaipur

The National Statistics Office (NSO), under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, organized the All India Workshop of Trainers (AIWOT) for the Comprehensive Modular Survey (CMS) on Education. The event, held at Marriott Hotel, Jaipur, on April 3, 2025, marked a significant step towards ensuring high-quality data collection for evidence-based policymaking.

The CMS (Education), part of the NSS 80th Round, will be conducted nationwide from April to June 2025. The survey aims to collect critical data on education indicators, particularly focusing on household expenditure on education.

Dr. Saurabh Garg, Secretary of the Ministry, inaugurated the workshop and emphasized the importance of accurate, timely data for effective policymaking. He urged participants to maintain rigorous data collection standards and actively engage with state authorities for smooth implementation.

Senior officials, including Ms. Geeta Singh Rathore, Director General (NSS), along with representatives from the Ministry of Education and various state directorates, attended the event. The workshop featured hands-on training on the Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) system and live demonstrations of survey techniques.

The survey will cover the entire Indian Union, barring remote villages in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands that are difficult to access.
