N K Dhal Appointed as ACS to Odisha CM
The Odisha government has announced the appointment of senior IAS officer Nikunja Bihari Dhal as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) to the Chief Minister. The appointment was confirmed by the General Administration and Public Grievance (GA&PG) department through an official notification issued on Sunday.
Nikunja Bihari Dhal, a 1993-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, currently serves as the Chief Electoral Officer and ex-officio ACS in the Home (Election) department of the state government. His new role as ACS to the Chief Minister underscores his extensive experience and leadership in administrative roles.
The notification stated, “Nikunja Bihari Dhal, IAS (RR-1993), Chief Electoral Officer and ex-officio Additional Chief Secretary to the government, Home (Election) department, is appointed as Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister, Odisha.”
In his new capacity, Dhal will play a pivotal role in advising and assisting the Chief Minister on various administrative matters, policy formulation, and strategic initiatives aimed at promoting development and welfare across the state.
Dhal’s appointment is expected to further strengthen the coordination between the Chief Minister’s office and various departments, facilitating effective governance and timely implementation of government policies and programs.
