Mishra Urges Shift Toward Humane Storytelling

Sanjay Mishra Calls for More Humane, Relationship-Driven Stories in Cinema
Acclaimed actor Sanjay Mishra has said that while mainstream cinema continues to favour large-scale spectacles, there is an urgent need for filmmakers to focus on humane stories rooted in life and relationships.
Speaking at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), where his latest film Vadh 2 had its gala premiere, Mishra stressed the importance of content-driven cinema. Vadh 2, a follow-up to the acclaimed 2022 film, explores a different storyline but continues in the vein of intense, character-led narratives.
“Things haven’t changed much for indie films. Producers want good content, and I truly respect those who invest in us and support meaningful films,” Mishra said.
He added that beyond the spectacle of larger-than-life projects, audiences also crave stories that resonate with everyday emotions and human experiences, urging the industry to strike that balance.
